Christophe’s Update from Jolivert
Dear directors and friends,
My greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior,Christ-Jesus! I would like to thank each one of you for your prayers and support during all which have been happened in Haiti. I have been thinking of you and praying for you too and I want to apologize for not having been writing for a while.
I’m  doing fine and so is my family by the grace of the Lord and we continue working to help the one who are in need. Since the cholera epidemic starts, we have been so busy at the Missions, especially in producing Gadyen Dlo(sodium hypochlorite) it is what they have available to treat their water. And we respond positively. Since Oct.25 to Nov.19,we add 1000 family in the program and we sell 15,418 botlles of chlorine and we still have a high demand. As most people in Jolivert have been already in the safe water system that prevent them from getting the cholera. So most people we get into the safe water system recently come from elsewhere, even,UNICEF orded 72 gallons of Gadyen for CRS to distribute in Gonaives.
I have to tell you at the begining we treated 6 cases of cholera at the clinic and we stop keeping cholera patients, because it’s so contaminated and we don’t have enough space to take care of both:non-cholera patients and cholera patients. We send them to Bassin-Bleu instead and we continue to take care of non-cholera patients.
For the outreach clinic, I provide them O.R.S, so they can give to the patients before refer them to CTC.
So now we continue working on teaching prevention and continue producing Gadyen Dlo so more people can have access to safe water to wash their hands, bath, clean their food and drink.
I have to tell you also cholera is an scary illness, so people keep us very busy at the Missions compound to ask you all kind of questions and come very often to ask for assistance.
I would like to thank especially Dr.Bob and Bill Gallo who had thought and set a safe water center ahead in Jolivert and which can respond positively to the cholera epidemic in Jolivert and surrounding erea.
May God continue pouring his blessing up on you!
In Christ’s name,
Christophe
