Nancy helping Triplets in Haiti
A report from Nancy in Haiti -
On Sept. 8 I flew to Haiti with 25 cans of special non-allergenic baby formula for triplets. This product is not available in Haiti. The trips were found on Sept 1, barely alive after being given sugar water for 8 days because mom’s milk had dried up and there was no more formula. Birth date : July 6 2009. Vanessa of Angel Missions took over care of the babies, dropper feeding them until they could suck. Regular formulas produced vomiting and diarrhea.
I have been helping Vanessa since last Thursday – day and night-. It is her hope to obtain medical visas to take the babies to the states for continued nutritional therapy and allergy work-up. They have responded very well to the Nutramigen but at 1 can/day costing $25/can, and appetites increasing, there is no way that the parents ( father unemployed) ( four other children) can provide for these children.
This was not in my original itinery but I feel that this is where God wants me at the present time. I keep saying – I am too old to be feeding babies around the clock!!!!!!!
